Facets 2022

About FACETS 2022

In the past 575 years, Antwerp has played a critical role in gathering industry stakeholders from around the world, defining historical moments in our shared history. Today, much like the World Economic Forum became the stage for global economic development, AWDC (Antwerp World diamond Centre) wants to further anchor Antwerp’s pivotal role in the global diamond industry, as the meeting space where governments, miners, midstream traders, and retailers come together to engage with each other, tackle challenges that lie ahead, discuss opportunities for positive impact on people and planet, and actively engage in initiatives that foster sustainable growth. In a world where disruption is the new normal, the diamond and jewelry industry at large is forced to adapt quickly to the new challenges ahead. These challenges are driven by the most powerful stakeholder in our businesses: the consumer.

This first edition, FACETS 2022 – “Diamonds in The Age of the consumer”, will be attended by the captains of industry from the global diamond- and jewelry industry as well as high-level politicians, engaging in an unprecedented and inclusive dialogue, on September 14 and 15, 2022.

During this two-day event, we will be discussing how current events and trends are impacting the fundamentals of the industry, what this means for producing countries and their efforts to build sustainable diamond economies, and how a collaborative approach, closing the gaps between the different actors in the pipeline, can make our industry stronger, more sustainable, and more equitable.

We look forward to welcoming you to the oldest commodities exchange in the world, situated in the heart of Antwerp, Belgium, established in 1530 as the “Handelsbeurs”.
